Indexability guide
Why Is My Page Not Indexed?
A page can fail to appear in search for technical, quality, timing, or discovery reasons. Start with the signals you can verify.
Common reasons
- The page has a noindex directive.
- The canonical points somewhere else.
- The page redirects or returns an error.
- Robots rules block discovery.
- The page is new and has not been crawled yet.
- The page is crawlable but not selected for indexing.
- The content is too thin, duplicated, or low priority.
- Internal links and sitemap signals are weak.
Run an indexability audit before you submit the URL again.
